Mini-Session Giveaway and some Chatter About the Week

I’m doing a giveaway this week on my facebook fan page.  If you are interested in entering, visit the Bethany Chase Photography facebook fanpage for details.  The contest ends on Sunday!

Also, I’ve updated pricing for the mini-session to make it so that people are able to get a few more digital images for a better price.  Here is the updated info:

This week we’ve been working on shooing away the germs.  Luckily they seem to have left the building this morning, as we all woke up in much better health than yesterday and the days before.

And remember how I told you that there was a conspiracy last week?  With the snow and all?  Turns out I was rights.  It’s been snowing all day here.  Just when I was beginning to get excited about the flowers poking their head through the ground and the return of little tikes toys all over my driveway.

Brayden watched a Curious George episode yesterday about camping, so he wanted to do a little camping in our living room.  He packed up a backpack for himself and Carter and hiked through the house.  When I asked him to reveal the contents of his backpack to me so I could see his supplies, he took out a golf ball, a basketball, a soccer ball and a bouncy ball.  I think he needs a lesson in camping.

We went to the basement and found a few appropriate things– a flashlight (which didn’t work, of course, as these things never do), a bug net and a bug “box”.  And a jumprope.  Because you never know when you might need one of those.  The rope part might prove to be pretty useful.  Then we played a few rounds of hide the bugs all over the room and try to find them.  Since then, Brayden has grown to love the rubbery millipede in our bug collection, and he even brought it to show and tell at preschool today.  Gross.

Carter is so in love with books.  I no longer take the big basket of baby toys out for him anymore.  I just take the basket of books out.  He retrieves a book from the basket, walks over to me, turns around and plops into my lap.  But he is very picky about his books.  There has to be some sort of texture, or fur, or flaps.  Some interactive aspect to it.  If he walks over with a book that just has plain pages, he will flip through a few, toss it to the side and go grab a more interesting book.

The other day, I was in a lot of pain (I had the unfortunate experience of coming down with strep throat this weekend) and I was putting Brayden to bed.  I asked him to sing to me instead of the other way around since I wanted to do as little talking as possible.  So he sang me many songs.  They all went something like this.

Take me out to the ballgame.  Take me out to the mom, see my feet poking out of the blanket? don’t tickle them! crowd.  Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks.  crackerjacks are like that book we just read the other day with the boy and his bear!  right, mom?  Buy me some peanuts and oh, i already sang that part. I don’t care if I ever get back. We’ll woot, woot, woot (that’s what his root sounds like) for the home team. am i going to baseball camp? remember, i want to do soccer camp and baseball camp.  swim camp.  jump rope camp.  running camp.  and bowling!  let’s sing a different song.

A, B, that’s what my name starts with.  A like AJ’s name! A, B oh, i already said that part. A, B, C, D, E, F, G mom, do you want to sing too?  H, I, J, K, LMNOP,  like olivia p in my class! Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. . .

The boy has less than a two second attention span.  But it was cracking me up.  He literally couldn’t finish a line without saying something in between.

Everyone start thinking Spring thoughts please!
