I totally stole this idea from my neighbor, Meghan, who had posted pictures on facebook of her son (only two months older than Carter) peacefully playing with a couple of bowls of elbow macaroni, and some spoons. I thought to myself, wow, what a great idea! I’m totally gonna do that! and had visions of Carter consumed with playing with elbow macaroni for like twenty five minutes without a peep. I pictured him fascinated by the activity and would oblige to playing nicely while I did something fun with Brayden.
Meghan’s son must be a little less crazy than mine, because here’s what happened in my kitchen . . . which is far from what it looked like happened in hers!
The mess took about five minutes to make. The cleanup? Ha. You don’t even want to know. I will probably be finding random elbows all over the kitchen for the next three years.
At least one of my children got the hang of what to do with them. . .
