Ladies and Gentlemen, Introducing for the First Time as Brothers . . .

. . . Brayden and his little brother.
I think my title is fitting. It has been impossible to get Brayden and Carter in a picture together. I think we have a very small handful of them since Carter’s birth, but none that I really like, and certainly none that can be made into prints that would be suitable for a frame.
Today I succeeded though. I successfully bribed Brayden (with the promise of two starbursts afterwards) to come up on the couch and hang out for a few minutes while I snapped some pictures. Of course, no matter how much candy I would have promised, I would have never been able to convince him to actually hold Carter. And it did take a lot of nagging to get him to sit next to Carter without leaning the other way as if the little guy had cooties. No, no Mommy . . . I’m just gonna sit right here. As he points and inches away from where I tried to place him.
And I am also learning that a photo shoot can be deemed successful if you come out with any amount of pictures that can actually be salvaged into looking decent. Even if that means you took a hundred pictures. And only ended up with five good ones. The percentage of failure goes exponentially upwards when you are working with young, squirmy children. It’s also a good thing that I have gotten much better at using photoshop. If you saw these pictures before they were edited, I’m sure you would have never thought they would turn out acceptably.
Well, no matter the bribing and nagging and frustration. I am beyond happy that I finally got some pictures of the boys together. Now I can have something nice to hang on the wall–I’ve been waiting for a nice picture to fill an 11×14 frame I purchased for above our fireplace. Maybe I’ll make one of the first or the last image. Which do you think?
