Dirty, Nasty, Yuck

Around here, the last four weeks of winter are VERY welcome–that means we are getting so close to spring. I dream about the day the snow is gone, the grass comes out of hiding, and the trees start blossoming.  But in the meantime, things are just downright ugly. We live on a cul de sac. . . and in the middle is a gigantic pile of snow from the plows. Some very dirty, very nasty and very, very yucky snow. Piled nice and high.  It’s like a magnet–for everything.  A magnet for the kids down the street.  A magnet for salt and dirt of course.  And also, apparently a magnet for mail.  James pulled out of our driveway yesterday and noticed what looked like a piece of mail in the snow pile. Turns out it was a check from a client for a session fee. You can bet I wasn’t pleased about that.

Things around here have been nice. James had off this week, which means lots of quality time spent around the house. Purging a bit–I’ve finally gotten rid of just about every piece of little boy clothing in size NB-6 months–that means for the first time in over six years, I finally have no more newborn clothes in the house. Sawyer is finally in 9 months stuff, yippee! Also, I purged my hair (can I call it that?) I cut off a foot of hair, and it’s sitting in an envelope waiting to be mailed to Locks of Love! It’s been growing for much too long, and it was actually starting to be a bother. Hair everywhere. . . headaches from the weight of it . . . two rubber bands hardly held it up . . . and it kept getting stuck underneath me when I laid down. Weird, right? I do not regret it, which is funny because I 100% thought I would. It’s great when we make decisions we are happy with!

Happy Weekend!
