All Smiles

Sawyer baby is all smiles these days.  You can look at him, talk to him, sing to him, coo at him, smile at him, pretty much do anything in his general direction, and his whole face lights up with a giant smile.  It’s quite rewarding really.  And makes the short cat naps a little more tolerable–I can’t imagine if he rarely slept AND was grumpy and cried a lot.

Speaking of cat naps, really, I’ve tried everything I can think of to figure out how to get him to nap better.  No luck so far.  Preschool days really kill any efforts, since typically he falls asleep in the car half way there, sleep the whole way home and then wakes up immediately after I park in the driveway and open the door.  Same thing for pickup. And there goes any down time two mornings a week.  Yuck!

James and I were talking about how it’s so different with your third child.  With Brayden, nap time was sacred.  I never left during nap time at all–EVER.  Brayden took a nap every single day of his life until he was over three.  It was a priority.  We were regimented.  Impossible with child number three.  I suppose they just get used to it?
