Week’s End Nonsensical Words

Today, I’m doing something I’ve never attempted before. Two newborn sessions in one day. In fact, as this post is set to publish, I am knee deep in one of them. Let’s hope he’s sleepy like an angel, putty in my hands. No accidents on the blankets. No fussing. Just a perfect little twelve day old newbie, ready for his modeling debut. Followed by the next baby, who I envision also sleeping soundly like it’s his job. Two boys. One day. I’m ready. I just love newborns–though half the time, I feel like I’ve gotten run over by a truck after I’m done shooting one. Perhaps I should pre-tylenol myself. To make for a longer day, James will be away chaperone a bunch of eighth graders for their class trip for a very long time today.  I will gleefully await his arrival, as I do every year that he chaperones this same field trip. A long day yes indeed. For everyone. Stay tuned on my Facebook fan page for some sneak peeks later today . . . and perhaps you will get bit by the spring time baby bug and spontaneously have a terrible urge to procreate a tiny, cute human being.

This week was bitter sweet. My big guy turned seven. Lost (was forced to lose) his first two teeth. He’s growing right before my very eyes. Becoming a follower of the trends with his clothing–asking for certain things because all of his friends are wearing them. He’s growing into his personality and it’s becoming more permanent as the weeks go by. Watching your child grow up is a strange thing. They go from helpless to crazy to these little people who can do so much for themselves. And though the days seem to go by slowly, the months fly by faster than I can handle. Seven doesn’t seem possible. I still remember laying on our bed one night while James was picking out clothes for school the next day and asking him if he thinks we should start trying to have a baby. That was eight years ago–we were just babies ourselves. And now, we’re inching our way into our thirties and we have these three little people that God has entrusted us with. Whoa. Beep beep, back the train up.  Weren’t we just married like yesterday? Oh wait . . . that was almost eleven years ago. Boy, at this rate, James and I will be eighty before we know it.

One week’s end is another’s beginning, and there’s no use trying to slow down time. Let’s enjoy today, as crazy as it may be! Seize the day!
