The Weak Week

june24_01 I accidentally took a week long hiatus from blogging. Remembering to past summers, I have always struggled with keeping up during these two months. There is too much going on, not as much “down” time to keep up with the blog and when I do have down time, there is usually something a little more pressing at hand.
june24_02 june24_06 My blog post title is strictly referring to my lack of posts in the past seven days. Our real week was anything but weak. We’ve had a blast the past few days, and our memories of this summer and all the fun have already been engrained in my mind–two of our three are now to the age of enjoying so many more things–and Sawyer? Well, he’s kind of just along for the ride still. But he loves our adventures, and is super go with the flow. He’s the first to say, “okay!” when I say that we are going–and he runs over to get his shoes and sits down with them (though he can’t put them on yet).

Last week, I jumped on the chance to go strawberry picking. We haven’t had great success the past couple of years–last year especially. There were too many people for the amount of strawberries and after one hour we barely had any. This year I was saddened by the fact that we had gotten so much rain that the regular places we pick at were not opened for u-pick this year. But alas, based on a recommendation from a couple of people, we found a place! It was amazing–not muddy at all, perfectly ripe and plentiful strawberries–and everyone had their own row to pick in because there were to workers directing people to their own little section. It was super organized. I didn’t mind it, but of course the two older boys wanted to go find their own patch and were grumpy about having to stay in one little area.

More adventures to come! Let’s hope I can keep up with the blog better!
