The Return of the Ball Pit

Right before Brayden’s first birthday, I found this really great ball pit for ten bucks at a yard sale.  It had a huge garbage bag full of balls.  I was pretty excited about it.  So was he.
We had it put away for awhile–it’s just a little on the big side, ya know?  And if you’ve ever been to my house, I’m sure you are aware that there is no shortage of large space-hogging toys.
I thought about bringing it back out again yesterday.  I figured the boys would have a good time playing in it together.  So I did it.  And they do love it.  For sure.  But now I remember why I put it away in the first place –I’ve already picked up balls off the floor about twenty times.  They come spilling out of the tunnel anytime someone comes out.  And Brayden finds it entertaining to throw the balls up through the hole in the top.  I’m thinking that it’s going to be short lived.  For my sanity’s sake.  But for right now, I’ll let them relish in the ball madness.
Here’s a couple of “now and then” pictures.

And besides Carter’s period of fussiness and clinginess, I think he’s going to turn out to be a pretty good independent player.  Yesterday was a really good day for him–he entertained himself for a long time.  Makes a momma proud.  And in case you were wondering–we did stay in our pajamas all day.
