The Final Miles to the Finish Line . . .

We’re now less than two months away from meeting our third son.  And things have already drastically changed.  I am officially on maternity leave from photography, until the earliest, the end of August, depending on how things go.  Things feel different.  I had my very last session this past Saturday, and felt a physical burden lifted the next day.  I was getting much too uncomfortable to keep going, though I know I could’ve pushed myself to.  I still have editing to finish up, but that’s it.  No longer does James get home from work and see me for ten minutes before I’m off to a photo shoot.  But I’m going to have to figure out how to keep my presence up in the meantime–with my facebook photography page, and my blog.  I cannot simply disappear!  So that will be my next challenge.  Trying to figure out the balance between taking off for maternity leave, and having a new teeny one in the house, and also making sure that I still have a business to run once I return.  It’s amazing how things have steadily grown over the past three years, and I’ve really enjoyed my role as a stay at home mom AND a self-employed photographer.  Sure, it’s difficult at times, but it’s been a lot of fun.

Now that I’m “off”, I’m trying to enjoy more time with our family.  But it’s a bit difficult because i’m so restricted as to what I can do.  Jump on the trampoline?  No.  Run around in the yard?  No.  Play for hours?  No–that’s very exhausting!  So I rest a lot, do what I can, try to half keep up with the housework.  And it will only get harder from here!  But the reward in the end is priceless, right?
