Season Kickoff

Wedding season began early this year–I was delighted to be doing a wedding that would have a different feel than the trendy warmer weather weddings.  I fell in love with the winter decorations–snowflakes and sprigs of evergreen everywhere–bringing me back to the joy of the Christmas season whenever I worked with the bride’s bouquet or did close up of the decorations.  If you were watching me closely, you would’ve seen me pause for a few extra seconds here and there, close my eyes and take a deep breath, taking in the piney wintertime joy.
The best part about the day was the adventure between the ceremony and reception.  The snow was unbelievably gorgeous, and the bride wanted some shots outside.  While it was rushed, freezing and completely ludicrous that we even went out there, afterwards I found that I was so happy that we had done it.  You definitely would have thought us ridiculous if you would have seen us . . . bride with her dress, white shoes, no shawl. . . two photographers with their cameras wrapped in plastic bags.  All four of us prancing through the snow, trying to cram what we normally do in a much longer period of time into about five minutes.
I’m really looking forward to editing the outside shots.  Here’s one for the road 🙂
