Chautauqua Lake–a beautiful place to have a wedding. And for almost all of the people that attended Sarah and Max’s wedding, it was their first time there. It was a destination wedding of sorts–nearly the entire guest list was from other parts of the country–Texas, California, Canada, and many other places. Sarah’s Aunt and Uncle own a Lake House right on Chautauqua Lake, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful place to have a wedding. The weather was perfect–the sky was a gorgeous shade of blue, and then sun set gloriously over the Lake, giving everyone a few breathtaking moments of oohing and ahhing.

Typically I meet a bride and groom before their wedding day–either in a meeting or at their engagement session–but because Sarah and Max were from Texas, we didn’t have the opportunity. They were such a sweet couple–I enjoyed Max’s positive attitude toward the pictures and how he just wanted to make sure Sarah was happy. We did a First Look with the two of them, and I thought it was so sweet that he had her bouquet, just like he was bringing her flowers, and handed it to her after he saw her for the first time.

There were so many amazing parts of their wedding day. The barn was decorated beautifully.  Buffalo Ruckus, an amazing band, drove all the way up from Texas to play in the wedding as well. They kept the dance floor on fire the entire time, and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a single person in attendance who wasn’t entertained. Near the end of the evening, the bride’s aunt and uncle surprised everyone with a spectacular fireworks show over the water. It was truly a magical evening.

There were so many favorites from the day! I had a hard time narrowing it down–I loved all of the details! Congratulations, Max and Sarah!
