Lenora’s session wasn’t a typical newborn session. She was born about six weeks early and had to spend many weeks in the NICU. When she was finally able to come home and travel out to my studio for her session, she was already pretty aware of her world and knew exactly what she didn’t like. And what she didn’t like was pretty much being moved around and being naked! I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a lot of sleep going on at her session either–but looking back, I adore the images we took with her mom and dad. Typically I don’t do as many parent photos, but she was happiest wrapped up and in mommy and daddy’s arms and so we took that and ran with it.

The very last images in this post show Lenora’s baby wrap that her momma uses to carry her around in. She asked if we could try to incorporate it into a few pictures, and of course since that meant using it to wrap the baby who just loved being wrapped, I happily agreed. That wrap went on for days! I could’ve wrapped ten babies in it–I love how stretchy and perfect it was to bundle little Miss June Bug up.

I’m very much looking forward to capturing this little lady’s first year!
