One year ago, it was summer. Not really, but we had a few days of seventy-five degree weather, giving us a break from the chill, and everyone went crazy–busting out the shorts and t-shirts. The flip flops (me!). We set up our trampoline–which was destroyed a few months later by the wind. We had play dates outside. We went to the playground. But all the while, the farmers were losing a majority of their fruit crop because the trees all started blossoming. Luckily we won’t have that problem again this year, since there is still snow on the ground, and the forecast in the next few weeks isn’t improving. James even took out the riding lawnmower and mowed the lawn. Crazy to think about.

Two years ago, we had a just barely one year old who already was able to play by himself–a trait that he still carries, thank goodness. And a bigger boy who was just getting into building things and legos.

Three years ago, we had an almost three year old who already knew how to maneuver a mouse around a computer to play games on pbskids.org. He still plays on that website–I love that they have multiple games to suit any age for kids as they grow. We had a new baby, and were adapting to our family of four. Today, I can’t believe we’re getting ready for boy number three. We are blessed, that’s for sure!

Looking back, I can’t believe how fast these years have gone by. It’s truly amazing how our kids change and grow over time, and how precious they are. What a joy to be a mommy. What hard work. . . but what joy it is.
