On the subject of blocks and puzzles . . .

My mom loves on my baby boys. You can tell she adored being here, doing life with us for a week. She doted on the wee one, soaking in his coos and little bunny features, and the way he snuggled against her when he slept. She played with the big boy when mommy couldn’t, and always loved on him like a good gigi does. We were all sad to see her leave. Even the cat.

But on the subject of blocks and puzzles . . . Brayden is into puzzles a little more every day. He can, after a wee bit of coaxing, actually complete an entire puzzle. He seems to get it. Most of the time. He is a guru at “spying” things in the picture and figuring out which piece should go next. After a million hours invested in playing the “I Spy” game with any possible book, that boy literally could probably find a needle in a haystack.

Blocks are another story. Usually playing with block entails dumping the entire contents on the floor and moving on to the next toy. There mom, I played with them.
But the other day, in between a conversation with my husband and my mom, I caught Brayden building this. He thought I didn’t see. But I caught him. I’m glad I’ve been leaving a camera on each floor of our house.
