Confession: Sometimes I like to garbage pick.
There. I said it. In the past week, I have gotten two things out of two different people’s trash. I don’t dig, don’t worry. But if there is something obvious sticking out of someone’s pile of trash that catches my eye, I stop to look at it. I saw this toy (my mom has the same toy, so I knew exactly what it was), did a u-turn and hopped out of my car. My first thought was that it’s in the trash because it’s probably broken. So I pressed the button that usually makes music turn on, and it actually worked. Score. I brought it home, and it sat outside in the rain all weekend. This morning I brought it in to disinfect it, but figured that actually it wouldn’t work since it sat in the rain for three days. . . but again, the thing happily worked. After a couple of rounds of disinfecting wipes, the boys were eager to finally play with it. Nothing like a completely free new toy.
Carter has the most infectious smile. Today we go in for his fifteen month checkup. You don’t have to tell me. . . I know you are completely jealous of his awesome cowlick making the hair stick straight up on the top of his head.

Brayden has a wicked cool one too (insert sarcastic tone here). His hair is now really long, since I just hate giving him haircuts (he puts up such a fuss). So his cowlick is in the front. . . he has this swirl of hair, which pushes over his “bangs”, making this weird point. It would be a problem if he was a girl.
It’s been raining for four days. The library seemed like a safe field trip for today. Everyone was looking at me funny because I was taking pictures of the boys. But whatever. . . it’s important to me. And who cares, right? 🙂
