May’s Inauguration

We had a great weekend. My parents came and camped out in our driveway–which worked out quite well, and excited the heck out of Brayden.

We ventured to the public market, where the fruit all looked delicious, the vegetables were bountiful, and we returned home with bags brimming with produce. We weaved through throngs of people, everyone (except me*) devoured a bag of kettle korn, and the sun sang happily it’s sweet May song. *(I did not have one single bite because I need to get rid of the rest of my baby weight . . . and I am proud to say that I have lost seven pounds in the past month)
I sweated terribly while I carried Carter around in the baby bjorn–but it didn’t bother me because I always feel so full of life when I visit the market. Is that weird?
My mom and I were able to get a few bargains at some garage sales we ran into–which, surprising to say, is actually above flip flops and capris on the list of my favorite things.
And James and I dreamed up our new kitchen design, which includes trying to save as many current cabinets as we can, utilize some free ones that my stepdad was able to give us from a client who didn’t need them, and pretty much just rearrange to better suit our needs. Low budget, of course. A new floor, new hardware and a new countertop hopefully will be the only things we need to purchase. And for goodness sakes, can we please get rid of the abundance of turquoise that is everywhere to be seen?
Our first attempt at getting the show on the road resulted in stripping the first layer of wallpaper, only to reveal another awful looking wallpaper underneath. Blah, blah and double blah. Things never go easily during house projects.
Hopefully I will have a good update the next time I write that involves the entire kitchen already being complete. I’ll just have to find my magic wand. Swish and flick.
And here’s what our boys have been up to the past few days.
