It’s the beginning of a new era for us here in the Chase household.  Star Wars has entered the picture.  Both of my boys have personalities that they can be totally “into” something and really have no idea what it is they are into.  There is a boy in Brayden’s class who like Star Wars . . . Brayden came home one day with a Star Wars plate and napkin from a birthday celebration that they had for his classmate.  And that was that.  We are now into all things Star Wars.  Which literally just means getting out books from the library, looking at pictures. . . reading through the Star Wars visual encyclopedia and the Lego Star Wars Dictionary.  They also make a ton of Beginning Reader Star Wars books. . . so those have been littered all over our house.  Carter is totally digging it too.  He can point out Darth Vader, Annakin, Jabba the Hut, Chewbacca or any other Wookie, C-3PO and R2D2, Jar Jar Binks, and for some reason, his favorite thing is the Dwarf Spider Droid, which is a little strange.

Today, Brayden was coloring.  The next minute, he said, Look mom!  A light saber!  And this is what he had made.  It was a double bladed lightsaber, which some of the characters have.  Mind you, ANYthing he knows about Star Wars is simply from books.  We have yet to let him watch anything–not sure if I’m ready to venture into that territory.  There might be a little too much violence and creepy stuff for his little four year old (and two year old!) eyes to see.
