Long Lost Blogger

Hey there. I realize I haven’t blogged in quite some time. I think it’s because I haven’t taken too many pictures lately. I need to get on that! Here is some updated news. . .

1. I have started coaching again. Last year I started coaching for a travel volleyball club called Volley FX. This year, I am coaching again and we just finished our third tryout, so we ended the tryouts by choosing the players we wanted. Last year I coached what would be equivalent to the “B” team for 13’s, and this year they moved me to the “A” team–so I got to choose which players I wanted! Heather and I had a great time looking forward to the talent that we will have this year. We’re traveling to all sorts of places–Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and possibly Texas and Virginia! It’s a nice job–I do get paid–and they pay for all of my travel and food expenses when we go away as well.

2. I have started nannying for the children of one of our pastors at church. I’ve been doing it for about a month now and am getting the hang of things. Since I have Brayden with me, I have three kids under 2 1/2! It makes for chaos sometimes, but it’s so fun that Brayden has playmates during the day now. We don’t go anywhere because first of all, I don’t have room for three car seats, but second of all, I don’t think I could handle that many kids running around in public without losing one of them! James and I are enjoying the extra money and it makes things like car repairs and unexpected costs a little easier. Just last week we put $700 into our Honda because it needed new tires and then the O2 sensor broke. Yuck!

3. We have some fun holiday plans! We are traveling down to Virginia for Thanksgiving to meet up with James’ Aunt, Uncle, Parents, Cousins, Siblings, Grandparents and Nephews! His Aunt and Uncle have a nice, big house that will hopefully accommodate all the six of them PLUS the thirteen others that will be coming. We’re a little nervous about the long ride with Brayden. Last year when we made the trip, he was still little enough to be in the carseat that could be covered with a blanket to make it nice and dark during the trip at night. He stayed asleep mostly the whole time. This year it will be different because first of all, he’s facing us and second of all, we can’t cover him up like we did before. In addition to visiting with family for Thanksgiving, we will be traveling to Buffalo for Christmas for a few days and then the day after Christmas will be leaving for New Hampshire to do our “Chase” family Christmas. Lots of traveling!!

4. Our house has been on the market for about two weeks. We had an open house and have had MANY showings. So far, no good offers. Bummer! We’d love to get going on finding our next house, but are tentative about doing so before selling ours.
