Here’s to You, Christy Lane

James and I are doing what needs to be done. We’re selling our house. Our realtor is coming over tomorrow at six to do paperwork. We aren’t so sure still, but we think it’s the right thing to do. People don’t normally downsize, and I realize that we are doing something normally unheard of, but there are many things in life that we’d like to enjoy and one of them isn’t being strapped down by a mortgage. So, here’s to you, Christy Lane.

We loved you while you were ours, but realize that you were not meant to be. You were our shelter and pride and joy, but God didn’t want you to be ours forever, so it’s time to pass you on to someone else. We cleaned you up and made you pretty on the inside and we have shown that the saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” is true in your case. You made Webster’s claim of “where life is worth living” a true story and we will remember you forever! Thank you for your two years in our lives.

How silly that I’m writing a tribute to a house. I guess our decision to sell it was a good one! We’re too darn attached!
