Today I had mom’s group. It’s called MOPS, which I will be the first to admit is a silly name, but it stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers”. And this of course doesn’t make any sense either because you don’t have to have a preschooler to be in the group–you just have to have a child of any age who is pre school. Make sense? So, baby through Kindergarten. Ask me again how that makes sense. . . clearly Kindergartners are in school, not pre school, but let’s just say I don’t ask questions. I just go, and serve on the steering team as the finance person.

Today, my lovely friend Erin spoke about Space (not outer space! . . . but the space around you). About minimizing your things. About have the motto “less is more” and getting rid of all the clutter to have more quality time with your family. Less cleaning up. Less fighting. More loving. Less stuff. And she was nervous, and she didn’t really really want to do it. . . but I bet she sure blessed a lot of mommas this morning. I bet a big chunk of them went home and made a plan to get rid of some clutter, even if it’s in just one room of their house. I bet someone is going to donate a whole bunch of toys. A big bag of clothes. Some shoes or books. I bet someone will clean out most of the toys in their child’s room to make a clutter free, happy space. I bet nearly everyone in the room was convicted even just a little bit about how much stuff we have, when she put up some statistics about the United States and our “stuff” problem. She was powerful, and full of emotion, and I loved listening to her heart come through with her words.

I am so blessed by so many of the people who surround me. So, as Erin’s shirt said this morning . . . “Less is More, Less is More, Less is More. . . . More Please”.
