Last Minute Summer Adventures

Summer break started last week for us, and I need to try to embrace these last few weeks with my two boys before we have a newborn in the house.  I have a good friend who is spontaneous like I am.  She doesn’t mind making last minute plans and doesn’t need a whole lot of time to mentally prepare for an outing–and she has four kids!  It helps to have someone else in my life that doesn’t need a whole lot of planning time to do something, because I’m the same way and am constantly thinking of things to do RIGHT BEFORE I want to do them.  So last week, we made plans at 8:45 am to meet at a place at 9:30, so we could squeeze in a fun little outing before I had an ultrasound scheduled.  Thing is, the location was about 25 minutes away from each of us.  Glad we can just roll with the punches.

We visited the Fish Hatchery, which really wasn’t anything incredible complicated. . . just throwing fish food in the water and watching the fish jump around for it.  It entertained the kids for awhile and gave us all a little something to do.  If you visit, make sure to bring lots of quarters and a couple of disposable cups to hold the fish food for the kids.
