Keeping Up the Pace

I think October will be different.  In September, I tried my very hardest to have a post every day.  In the blog world, it’s easy to cheat and write two or three posts at once–then have them set to be published at a designated time.  I took advantage of that feature nearly the entire month.  I find that being under the obligation to sit down and post every single day is likened unto my 8th grade English teacher making me read a book instead of letting me choose one of my own.  Reading is enjoyable to me, but making me do it is not.  Blogging is enjoyable to me, but feeling like it’s a weight that I have to bear makes it not enjoyable. Writing three or four posts at once when I have a small chunk of time makes it much easier to stay on top of.

But I’m not sure sure I can keep up the pace in October.  It’s not easy, I’ll tell you that much.

Carter’s little personality is beginning to surface more and more.  He has gone away from the snuggly, sweet little boy that he was.  Now he’s a brute. . . a punching, hitting, mischievous, iliketogetmywayandwillscreamifidon’t kind of boy.  He rams into people head on, hits people constantly and is very, very stubborn.

But, boy I’ll tell you that he is one smart cookie.  The other day, we were at a house where there were landscaping lights lining the path.  He touched the top of each light while he counted up to eight.  My jaw almost dropped.  I know he can count up to about thirteen. . . but the fact that he touched each light while he said a number floored me.  I guess he’s a very smart, very aggressive little boy.  Brayden is terrified of him and flinches every time Carter makes a quick movement near him.

We’re working on it.  One day at a time!
