K is for Krazy

In our house, we are winding down and winding up at the same time.  If that makes any sense.  With this being the last week of school for James, the excitement of having him with us for the summer days makes me giddy and delighted.  I love when it’s the four of us at home.  His school year is winding down–and for that we are grateful.

On the other hand, wedding season has begun for me.  I had my first wedding this past weekend.  With that means many hours of editing in my near future.  Currently, I have 1631 images that need to be sorted, weeded out and edited in the next couple of weeks.  Thus, I am winding up to get in gear for my second season of weddings.  Exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.

Add to this the amazing weekend we are about to have, where we will be in Buffalo visiting family–my dad and stepmom whom we haven’t seen in almost two years, my brother and his wife and two kids who will be leaving in a few short weeks for long term missions overseas, and then my mother-in-law will be coming to visit us for the first time in almost five years to help out while I am having a heart procedure and will be rendered useless for a few days.  We are looking forward to being with so many of our family members all at the same time.

And if you stepped into our house and took one look at our kitchen, you would turn around and run away.  A few rows of tile are laid out, while the rest of the floor is still a plywood subfloor.  We have makeshift plywood counters on top of cabinets with half-sanded doors.  Gobs of wood filler replaced where the hardware used to be, and the walls are a mess of spackle and peeled wallpaper leftovers.  Truly it’s a nightmare.  But it will indeed get better with time.

Needless to say, things are and will be hectic for the next few months, but completely great at the same time.
