Daddy’s Little Fish

James grew up spending his summers swimming in the backyard.  It’s something that he holds very dear to his heart.  He has memories galore of pool parties . . . and games that he used to play with his family . . . and stories of peeing on the side of the cabana.
Even now, he still loves swimming.  Put a diving board at his disposal, and he somehow turns into a ten-year-old again–jumping off the board as high as he can, diving wicked high dives, doing flips, shooting hoops while he jumps off.  I mean, the dude can entertain himself for hours if he had the time.  Bring over some of his guy friends and a ball, and they can spend the entire evening doing “tricks” off the diving board.  It’s hilarious.
So, now that Brayden is at the age where he is interested in swimming, James is totally eating it up.  He told me the other day, right after Brayden jumped off the diving board for the very first time, that this was where he was going to spend his entire summer.  Right there in our little backyard, teaching Brayden the ins and outs of why having a pool is the best thing since sliced bread.
I don’t think the little fish will need much convincing . . .
