It’s Not Summer Until the Pool is Opened. . .

Our summer finally arrived yesterday.  Forget the fact that pool season has been in full swing for most Western New Yorkers for about four weeks now.  Forget the fact that strawberry picking season is almost behind us, and school kids have just finished their first full week of break.  Forget any other thoughts about how summer began awhile ago.  Because in our house, yesterday was it.
This year was a nightmare trying to get our pool opened.  A repair needed to be made before anything could happen, and getting a pool company to fix it was apparently too much to ask.  So it took from May 16th until June 30th to get the filter we needed installed and working properly.
Brayden has been poolside during any free moment, and he loves it.  Lucky for him, the weather forecast for the next ten days says nothing but 80’s.
I hope many happy memories are made in the two months ahead.
Last year. . .

We went to the beach last night with some friends.  Brayden had an incredible time–he was able to go in the water and loved how the waves lapped him up and down and threw him around.  Seriously, I was a nervous wreck the whole time.  Between watching him like a hawk, chasing Carter around and trying to socialize at the same time, I didn’t get to snap many pictures. . . and didn’t even get to take any pictures of our friends.  Maybe next time!

Hanging out at home today . . .

Happy summer everyone!
