We normally get together with friends on Memorial Day.  Last year we had a great Memorial Day celebrating with friends at a park. . . eating dinner and splashing around in the water with the kids.  But this year we laid low.  We spent time, just the four of us, at home.

We ended up getting a ton of things done.  Cleaned and organized the garage.  Weeded and mulched the beds on the side of the house.  Bought some flowers and made a few planters for outside.  Went grocery shopping.  Played with bubbles and sand and water.

The state of the inside of the house is a different story though 🙂  I would be highly embarrassed if anyone stopped over for a surprise visit!

Today was also a first for us with Carter.  He threw a temper tantrum this morning once with James.  It was his first one.  And it was very short–but a temper tantrum none the less.  This was followed by about seven more the rest of the day.  He would yell no! and then proceed to throw himself on the floor and cry.  Oh boy.  The drama starts.  Now we just have to figure out how to handle it.  They sure did come out of nowhere.  The fifteen month tantrums.
