For thirty minutes today, Carter was in his glory. He walked into his new preschool classroom timid, clutching the Curious George he got as a little preschool gift. Five minutes later, George was temporarily forgotten when Carter realized that there were amazing toys laid out for him to play with everywhere. I thought his school did a really great thing by having a thirty minute orientation–half the class at a time. So it wasn’t overwhelming. And mostly it was just playing. I can tell he’s going to like it (well. . . the playing part). Carter is a bit more independent than Brayden, so while Brayden thrived on the changing of the activities every fifteen minutes or so, Carter tends to want to play with one thing for a much longer time so I’m not sure how the transitioning will go.
In the spirit of things, I took a trip down memory lane when I came home, and read this blog post.
