Gobble Gobble

We hosted Thanksgiving this year–I vaguely remember doing it once before when we were first married, but I don’t remember anything much about it except that my mom, stepdad and James’ parents were here.  I don’t remember cooking.  I don’t remember what we had.  Obviously we survived.  And we did it again.  Thankfully, it turned out decent and we didn’t mess anything up!  Most people who know me know that I’m not really a great cook.  It’s mainly because I just don’t like to do it because I haven’t seen much success with it (and because I HATE the cleanup).  Things weren’t so bad though, and James and I shared in the job load.

Things I learned:  Brining the turkey overnight makes it taste extra delicious AND I didn’t mess up my grandma’s stuff 🙂  Phew!

We enjoyed our company and would’ve loved to have had my brother and his family over as well, but I’m glad they were able to visit my dad and his family down in Georgia, since he hasn’t seen then since they’ve been home.

And yes, we did let Carter stay in his pajamas all day.  Two days in a row.

Here’s to Thanksgiving and everything in this world that there is to be thankful for!
