Erin & Dan | A Bristol Harbour Resort Wedding

Erin & Dan’s wedding day was pretty epic. It was one that James and I will remember so many things from.  First off, Erin was simply stunning.  Her wedding gown was gorgeous, and she wore it so elegantly.  I loved her something old–her late grandmother’s watch that was given to her by her grandfather on their wedding day, and her something blue–a pin with the family name “Murray” that they pinned to her gown’s tulle under layer.  Erin teared up as she put the watch on her wrist, and I loved seeing such emotion as she got ready to enter into her next phase of life.

Earlier in the week, Erin and I watched the forecast like hawks. At one point, the forecast said 90% chance of rain. Not exactly what you want on your wedding day. Luckily, as we neared Saturday, the forecast changed bit by bit, and it didn’t rain. UNTIL, it absolutely poured and hailed on us during our pictures.  We were in the beautiful valley of Bristol, and the sky was amazing. A huge grey cloud loomed in the distance over a big colorful mountain of autumn beauty.  And the wind picked up.  But we pressed on (making sure, of course, that the bride was okay as we continued). The wind blew and the cloud grew–and we snapped those photos as fast as we could. And then just like that, it was raining, and even faster than we could say boo, it was hailing on us.  Sideways hail.  James had took off running toward the clubhouse, and he, along with a couple of groomsmen saved us with their golf cart chariots.

Good thing the bride had a bit of time to freshen up 🙂

The rest of the day went off without a hitch. The sky cleared again, so we were able to head back out after the sun was nearly down for some pictures overlooking the water and beautiful scenery.  Dan and Erin were fabulous the whole day–clearly enjoying themselves and having a blast. Not to mention, they are simply stunning together and wonderfully photogenic.  Without a doubt, they also had one of the most amazing receptions we’ve experienced.  The Skycoasters played live music in lieu of a DJ, and that place was rockin’.

Fabulous wedding, you two. May you enjoy your new path together and find joy in each other every day!
