Colden [Buffalo, NY Children’s Photographer]

The thing I loved about this session was, well, everything really.  The session almost didn’t happen.  We were scheduled to shoot in Buffalo, but had to cancel our session because of the frigid spring weather.  Because I was pretty busy before going on my maternity leave, it wasn’t going to work out to reschedule.  I got an email from Colden’s mom a couple weeks later asking if we could reschedule when they were out in our area for an appointment.  We chose a time and a location, but a few hours before the session, once again, the weather was not cooperative.  With a gloomy, rainy forecast, we debated weather or not the session would take place.  But lo and behold, the sun fought through the clouds, and we ended up with a very sunny hour.  I almost wished the clouds would’ve come back!  It was nothing but blue skies at that point.

I loved Colden’s parents.  His mom was so full of energy that I wish she could be my assistant at every session.  We worked hard to get smiles out of Colden–it had been a long day for him, with the drive from Buffalo and the long appointment, and he literally fell asleep in his dad’s arms at the end of the session.  Luckily, the shutter speed on the camera is so fast–sometimes Colden smiled for us for about a half of a second.  But that’s all I need to capture a beautiful, sparkly eyed smile!  What an adorable joy he was to shoot!
