Christmas Hoopla | Part 1

Having a husband who is a teacher has big perks–one of them being that he doesn’t have to work when kids aren’t in session.  And this year, that meant two full weeks off from school.  That’s never something to complain about, and we really enjoy having him around all the time.  It’s always so hard for school to start up again–life with no responsibilities always spoils me.  We spent the first week hanging out at home for a few days, and then traveled to Buffalo on Christmas afternoon.  Our house was trashed, but at that point, we didn’t care.  Things always get put back, right?

Brayden had a rough go at it in December, with a cold that just went on, and on and on.  After two weeks, I took him to Immediate Care where they did nothing for him but tell him that he should get better in a few days.  Ten days later, he was still sick, with no voice, so I took him to the pediatrician where she immediately prescribed him with something for a sinus infection.  A few days later, he was good as new.  But seriously, it was a really LONG sickness, and he was plagued with sinus headaches and congestion.  Boo.

One of our Christmas presents as a family was personalized aprons!  Someone at James’s school made them for us.  And I had nothing to do with it–James is a very thoughtful person 🙂  Cookie decorating is much more fun while wearing an apron with your name on it.

Our first break week was great–and it seems crazy to think how quickly it went by.  Part II up soon!
