James and I made a decision this past August to invest our time in family. We don’t take for granted that he has off in the summer, and that I can make my own schedule–so we planned out our month and quite literally spent the majority of it with family members who we don’t get to see very often at all. For over half the month we either had out of town family visiting, or we were making road trips to far off lands to visit others. The last week of August we spent with my dad and his family in Georgia, and I’m so happy that we were able to make so many great memories. You may have already read about our amazing day at the Tennessee Aquarium. . . It was quite memorable for the boys. . . lots to see!
And with the exception of also visiting the Chattanooga Children’s Museum, we mostly just hung out. We had lots of big family dinners–let the kids hang out. Talked and caught up with each other. Played a rousing game of headbandz. We all had a great time, and I certainly hope that it’s not another four years before we go back again like it was this time around! Four years is much too long!
