Yesterday, my little man turned TWO! My, how times flies. To celebrate, we had a bunch of friends over to our house this past Sunday. A few families came with us to the zoo to hang out with the animals for awhile and then we came back to our house, where a few more families met up with us for a Taco feast. We did a fun animal craft after dinner and then Brayden and I were attacked by an excited group of kids shoving presents in our faces. Quite exhilarating!

I made a double decker chocoalate cake and then some vanilla cupcakes for the kiddos. Also, I had a really fun time making a t-shirt for Brayden that he wore during the party. It had a big CHASE across the back with a number 2 (like an athletic jersey) and then the front said “Brayden, the birthday boy” 🙂 You can see it below in the picture where Brayden is blowing out the candle.

We all had a really great time. My parents came in for the day, which was really helpful for us as we tried socializing during the party. They also brought Brayden a train table for his birthday, so that was a lot of fun too 🙂 The only thing that made me sad was that we all had to squish inside our house (it might have been too cold to hang out outside anyways), but the fact that we have ABSOLUTELY no yard anymore makes me sad every time I think about it. I remember back to his party last year when we put all sorts of large outdoor toys out in the front yard and everyone ran around like wild-children, playing and having fun. I guess we’ll have to find a nice park in the future.

Thank you to all of you who sent Brayden birthday wishes and phone messages. He listened to them and smiled through them. I’m looking forward to our next year with him and our new journey of “two-hood”.
