Carston was my first of two cake smash sessions back to back. I love seeing the babies I am going to photograph for the very first time. Sometimes it’s as they are being taken out of the car by their parents. When Carston’s adorable curly head popped out of the back seat, I grinned ear to ear. His mom said they had just cut off about an inch of it too. . . I wonder what he looked like before that. I tried with both of my boys to grow their hair long enough to give it a shot at curling. Both James and I have wavy hair. On good days, mine is curly. But both of our boys have pin straight hair. And so growing their hair out when they were babies just made it look like they were ragamuffins! Boo!!
We did half of Carston’s session outside and then came back to my house for the cake smash. His mom ordered a cute cupcake from Dolce Cupcakery. It looked so delicious, that I really did want to eat it myself 🙂
. . . not too sure about being plopped down in front of something so messy . . .
It was apparent that he wasn’t too thrilled with the whole idea. We got a few pokes. A little crying. A little laughing. A bit of foot action in the frosting. But not so much with the smashing.
That’s okay, Carston. You were still cute 🙂
