Meet Bella, a five year old who is rocking that extra chromosome like a boss.

Some words from Bella’s Parents:

It was late February 2013, about 2 weeks after my amniocentesis, and I had just received the call–the one that would change my life, my family’s life, forever. I was flooded with just about every emotion you can imagine,  but after a week or so, said, “Ok God, I’m ready, let’s do this!” I started reading books and online articles–whatever I could do to prepare for the big day. But when that big day came, the reality of it all hit hard. I thought, “How am I going to do this?” Then, suddenly, she was here–our little 9lb, 6oz beauty! I had always loved the name Isabella because I really wanted to call my little girl Bella. But my husband pointed out how popular the name Isabella had become. So while I lay patiently (after my epidural ;o) awaiting her arrival, I scribbled some other options on the back of an envelope. And the winner was Maribella. Her sisters, Alexandra & Seraphina, were so excited to welcome her home. She’s been smothered in love ever since. Not a day goes by that Bella doesn’t do something that amazes us or makes us laugh. I am constantly showing people pictures or videos of Bella because she is such a “light”. How truly blessed we are to have her in our lives. I am so proud & lucky to be her Mama❤

Oh, the places you will go, Bella!

It was a pleasure to do a special photo session with some kiddos from Western New York who have Down syndrome for the third year in a row. I am hoping to spread awareness locally on messages of acceptance and beauty to individuals with Down Syndrome.
