Will [Rochester, NY Newborn Photographer]

Being a photographer takes a lot of work–that’s not a surprise.  Looking at these images, it might appear that newborn photography is easy.  The babies just sleep. . . you pose them and bam, easiest job in the world.  On the contrary my friend–now that I’m in the depths of newborns, I can tell you that it’s no piece of cake.  But it’s amazing when it feels like a session comes together and the skills you have learned take form.  I am often proud of images that I take–I walk away from most sessions with images that I would be happy to share in my portfolio.  But Will’s newborn session, specifically, is one that I am proud to share.  A session that I feel shows that yes, I am more of an investment than some photographers out there, but not all photographers can give you finished images that look like this.

Don’t get me wrong, there is always much to work on, and I know better than anyone that the second I feel like I have “arrived” is the second that I will start failing.  So, session by session, I work to improve.  But it’s so nice to feel pride in something that I hold so dearly to my heart.  Capturing precious times in people’s lives.

This little guy was amazing for his session, and I loved all the different setups that I was able to get to because he was so sleepy.  So adorable.  Love me some newborn squishiness!
