Whirlwind of Days

I wish I could sit here and think of many witty and funny things to say about our crazy week.  I’d love to break it down into cleverly written stories, highlighting everything that we did that was amazing.  But I don’t have the energy, the brainpower or the time.  So I’ll just give it to you straight up.
Literally, our last three days have been a whirlwind of everything imaginable.  We were very productive, but on the go the entire time.  It goes without saying that today is just a day of recovery.  Nothing fancy, no glittery costumes or jewels.  Just a plain Monday to recoup from the crazies.
We were preparing for a garage sale and ripping apart our kitchen all at the same time.
We celebrated the birthdays of some very dear friends.  Two birthday parties all in one day.  Forty-five minutes away from each other.  After a full day of selling our junk at a garage sale, for the second day in a row.
A visit from my parents to help us with a few things.  Michael worked with James in the kitchen, trying to level the floor.  It was one of those things where you thought you would get to go ahead and do something fun like laying a new floor, but instead you have to spend seven hours fixing the sloppy work of the previous owners and spending $200 that you never thought you would have to spend on something you will never ever see and not even getting to think about laying down the new floor.  How’s that for a run-on sentence?
Meanwhile, my mom got the privilege of helping me fold ten loads of laundry.  And I’m being completely serious.  We had about two weeks worth of dirty clothes.  When I found out my parents were coming for the day, I did laundry in a mad dash on purpose because I knew I was going to make her help me fold it all.  Thanks mom!  I think it seriously took us about two hours to fold it all and put it away.  Never again will I wait that long to do laundry.  But, I am geeked beyond anything that our All detergent that I bought on clearance finally ran out and now we are back to good old Tide.  Man, how I missed it.
And if you skipped all of that reading to get to the pictures (Rachelle!!) here are a few snapshots of some happy moments (all except the last three–James was definitely not happy to be doing what they had to do).
