April 10th. It began. The journey that we said we would never do again. But we did.
And NEVER AGAIN! I keep saying that, don’t I?
If I move again, it won’t be in New York, that’s for sure. Somewhere warmer would be preferable.
Our new house is full of great potential. I’m looking forward to making it a home and beginning our new family adventure. We’ve explored. We’ve been up to our neck in boxes. We’ve made it a whole week without falling apart. Moving is no joke. I can’t remember this much exhaustion from our past moves. I remember vividly hanging up pictures on the walls the very first day we moved into our last house. And it took me eight days this time before I got a clock up on the wall.
Almost every morning, I wake up to this spectacular sight outside of my bedroom window. And also, Sawyer’s window too–so one of the first projects was to put in room darkening shades for him! He’s a light sleeper.
One full week after we’ve moved in, I can finally say that almost everything is unpacked in our main living area. Things aren’t organized or decorated, but I just needed the boxes to be gone. Thank goodness we have a basement this time around, so we’ve thrown LOTS of stuff down there to get it out of the way until we are ready for it. Out of sight, out of mind. Makes me much less anxious about the whole ordeal.
Lots and lots of projects are swirling around in my mind. I can’t wait to tackle some fun things. But for now, I must continue to press on getting things organized. Today, I have to tackle the shoe/coat area, as that’s the last thing that has remained a mess. And a mess is an understatement.
Soon, I will have to post some pictures of my new studio area! Can’t wait to share it with you 🙂
