My dad and stepmom live a bit too far away for our liking.  We rarely see them, which is a shame–usually only about once a year.  So we have to make up for lost time when we get together! They decided to make the fourteen hour trek to our house to meet Sawyer and spend some time with us and the boys.  They picked up my brother in Buffalo along the way, which he was thrilled about.  And we had a rockin’ time for a couple of days during their visit.  I’m so thankful we have outgoing kids who don’t really need any time at all to warm up.  So playtime started from the time they walked in the door until the time they left.

We had a great time, and thankfully, like with James’s brother’s visit, it wasn’t stressful.  My dad and Joanne made dinner both nights (and they are great cooks!), we took everyone swimming in their hotel pool since it was too cold out to swim in our own, we went for a hike at a great local gem, lots of legos were played with, we played some Wii Party and just spent some nice time hanging out.  We’re so thankful that they drove all that way to visit!
