The Sweetest Place on Earth

We are always ones to take quick little trips, and most of the time my mom and stepdad come along with us for the fun.  We believe that building family memories with grandparents is super important, and plus, it helps with keeping us all sane! Hershey Park was great–but the different in height between Brayden and Carter made it really tricky since Carter wasn’t able to go on any of the stuff that Brayden really wanted to. Having four sets of adult hands was super helpful, especially with a baby in tow as well. The park was crowded–like way more crowded than I thought it would be, but I’m not sure what I expected I guess.  Maybe I was comparing it to Disney in January, where there definitely wasn’t as many people as there was in Hershey (strange, I know). If you’re a roller coaster lover, Hershey Park is a great place for you–they had eleven! I’m sure if there were no kids in tow, I would’ve done them all. Things are different with kids, and that’s okay 🙂 Also, the water part of the park is truly an amusement park all on it’s own. Again, with the little ones, it was hard for me to really enjoy everything that there was (well, let’s be honest—I didn’t really get to participate in anything in the water park. I just followed a crawling baby). But, looking around, I was floored by how incredible it was.  We were there for two days, and didn’t even get to everything. The place is much larger than I thought it was going to be.

We all survived and nobody threw a tantrum or cried because they didn’t get their way. We’re pretty blessed with our kids and are thankful they are usually very “go with the flow”. Sawyer had a rough first day because he doesn’t quite know how to nap outside of his crib. But by day three, it seems he learned how to do it just a little bit better, and fell asleep in the stroller a couple of times. Phew!

A few fun things to remember–I encouraged James to play one game. The one where you try to toss a softball into the giant milk can. It was $5 for a little basket of balls. I made him play it at 9:50 pm, right before the park closed just in case he won the giant stuffed object and we had to carry it through the park. Lo and behold, he threw his very first ball and it bonked against the rim a couple times and plopped right in. It was hilarious. So, he won the milk can toss, and we carried a gigantic girl hershey kiss through the park on the way out. The boys couldn’t have been happier. Truly. The next day, my mom paid for the boys to play one game each as well, and they won their own little stuffed animals, which they were thrilled about. Brayden, a kiss and Carter, a Reese’s character. Fun times. . . .fun times 🙂
