So, the foam gingerbread house didn’t work out very well. We decided to try out the real deal and make one of those gingerbread house kits. It looks more like a lean-to now that it’s finished. According to the directions, you are supposed to put the sides of the house together first, let them dry for 2-3 hours, then attach the roof, also letting that dry for another 2-3 hours. I guess our mistake was that we sat the kids down, pulled out everything and thenproceeded to read the directions. Ooops. So much for letting it dry. We ended up with a house that only had three sides. . . we just couldn’t get the fourth one to stay. They didn’t care though. . . they just wanted to eat put the candy on. Our final project is quite interesting looking. I guess it just wasn’t a gingerbread kind of year!
