Right now, at this very second, I think there are no less than about ten major projects going on in our house at one time. Owning a house is insane. Once you are all set with one area, you turn around and there’s another improvement to be made. Something to make the house more functional for your family–not the two retired folk that lived here before us. Mudroom is a mess (but so much potential!). The laundry area is getting a facelift. There is a new desk sitting in a box for me waiting to be assembled because my current one broke when we moved (what do you expect from Walmart quality . . . hopefully the new one will be more sturdy). We have things in hiding waiting to make their debut in their new home. Our old car is STILL sitting in our driveway waiting for who knows what future (yes. . . we realized it’s been sitting there for five months).

And well, once all those things are all settled and taken care of, another handful of projects and renovations will take their place. It’s super exciting, super stressful and a little bit of a headache all at the same time.

Our boys are finding that school means just a small amount of free time a day. I feel badly that they start playing things all the time, but have to stop to get dress. Or make their bed. Do their homework. Read for twenty minutes. Everything is start and stop these days, and there are no longer large chunks of down time. Carter asks every day if it’s time for the weekend yet, and I think the novelty of school has already worn off. He’d rather not go each morning,  and makes a sad face when I tell him it’s another school day. He does like his teacher though, so I’m super thrilled about that. She seemed really sweet when we met her–he’s not so sure about a few of his classmates, but he’ll hopefully find a few that he wants to “hang” with. 🙂
