Many times during sessions, parents step back and let me do the work.  Which is obviously what they’ve paid me to do.  Sometimes it’s great–sometimes kids do better when their parents aren’t hovering.  But sometimes (well, a lot of times), having the parents take a solid role in the session is the most helpful thing ever.  Enter Coach Simon.  This session had me cracking up because Simon kept telling the kids what the next play in the game was going to be–and he was acting like he was the coach of the team, and they needed to follow the play.  And literally, it worked like magic.  Sure, the boys were still silly. . . and our little toddler photo subject still ran all over the place, as all toddlers do.  But every time we had a “new” play to run, and the coach gave the play details on what they were going to do next, they totally followed through.  Super funny.  You can imagine that I was delighted 🙂
