Stream of Consciousness

I woke up after a glorious night of sleep to like a foot of snow in the driveway.  It snowed all day.  Wasn’t I just in paradise, with palm trees and blue skies?  Talk about a reality check.  I was under some strange illusion that spring was around the corner.  Fat chance.  Thanks, Vegas for knocking me out of my winter rut and showing me that there are actually places in the country where it’s not white for five months.  Now I have returned to the tundra, and I am not pleased at all.

I forgot to mention that Leah and I went to see Cirque Du Soleil’s KA at the MGM Grand after a long day of learning.  It was the best show I have ever seen on stage, and totally worth the money.  Amazing. Incredibly amazing.  Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. . . so glad we decided to go.  And it was really nice to sit and not have to think for a little while.

We took Carter in for his one year appointment today.  He has fallen off the percentile chart . . . apparently the last time we took him in, his clothes weighed seven ounces.  Because on the scale today in nothing but a diaper, he was just at nineteen pounds.  That means he has only gained a half a pound in three months.  The doctor was a little concerned, and with dairy allergy, that makes things even more complicated.  We have to go back for a weight check in a month.  In the meantime, he is going to get tested for Celiac Disease, along with other allergies next Friday.  On a good note, she was completely pleased with his walking and balance.  We were chatting with her probably for fifteen minutes, and he was standing up and walking around the entire time.  He didn’t crawl or sit down once.  She said this may have something to do with the slow weight gain. . . since he’s been walking for a month and a half now, he’s burning a lot of calories.  Let’s hope that’s all it is.

And here is my haircut.  Well, you can only see part of it. . . the bangs and the horribly blonde highlights.  If you want to see my hair down, you’ll have to wait about a year.  My haircut is awful. . . and if you thought that I wore my hair up a lot already, you ain’t seen nothin’!  Cause it won’t be down EVER AGAIN!  🙂  Just kidding.  I guess that’s what I get for buying a Groupon for a hair salon.  Maybe I learned my lesson. . . and maybe you really do get what you pay for.

Today was full of lots of scribbling of thoughts, trying to put some ideas together.  I have about a hundred things I need to work on. . . I guess I’m really taking this to the next level.  Excited about what’s to come!
