Strawberry Heaven

I have fully entered into busy season for photography.  And I am getting a taste at what the summer will be like.  I am extremely grateful that James will not be teaching summer school–I am sensing that it will be a summer full of photography work.
As it stands right now, I am certainly not complaining about the work.  With all the maintenance costs on our house right now, the dual income is helping far more than I would’ve imagined.  We have had some expensive repairs in the past month, and I am very thankful for my earnings, as is James.
Being a stay-at-home mom and a photographer in the prime of Rochester’s photography season is certainly taking a toll on me though.  I find myself increasingly feeling overwhelmed by everything that is before me.  Trying to continually find that balance between spending quality time with my family and working on business stuff in the “not so important” moments.  I am so new at all of this that I am confident in the near future, I will figure out how to keep afloat a little more gracefully.  Like any new experience thrown our way, it takes a little perseverance, and a little bit of time to develop my sea legs.  I’m sure I’ll find them sooner or later.  In the meantime, I’m enjoying one heck of a ride, doing something I would’ve never in a million years guessed would be something I called my own.
