Sneaking Up

You’d think that as a stay-at-home mom, I would be well aware of the calendar–because my husband is a teacher who has off for two months.  But I found myself, just three days ago, blinking dumbfoundedly that next week is my husband’s last week of school.  I knew it was coming, I just wasn’t aware of how soon–and what a joyful discovery that was!  Truth be told, once upon a time, I lived my life according to the school breaks–nearly every year of my life when I turned five up through my last year of teaching when I was twenty-five.  And it will definitely begin again next year once Brayden goes into Kindergarten.  But for those five years in between?  Well, it was just kind of day in and day out, I know I need to survived from 7 am until 4:15 pm with my kids, keeping them fed and happy and entertained.  And you know what I ended up living my life according to?  My wedding schedule.  Sounds funny, I know. . . but people’s wedding are a big deal.  I may not know when James has breaks, but I sure know when my seventeen brides are getting married!  Maybe in the future, I can try to keep track of both at the same time 🙂
