Slow Winter Days

january_28_10

Winter days are slow.  We are less ambitious.  There are no huge projects going on, and we are totally fine with that.  The house is staying clean, but there’s no landscaping to upkeep.  No weeds to pull.  No pool to keep clear.  No grass to mow.  No outdoor toys to keep organized.  My hatred of winter is at least lessened a bit because of these things.  We get to enjoy the inside things. . . only keeping up with the indoor things in our house.  And with slow season for photography too, we are finding ourselves able to relax after the kids go to bed.  We’ve found a few fun shows to watch together–lately Property Brothers and Flea Market Flip.  Snuggled up on the couch with a blanket and my husband isn’t a normal “summer time” activity.  So I’ll soak it up while I can!

And today was a snow day for both James and Brayden, which rarely happens.  First one of the year!  So we have been hanging out at home, and then we spent a good hour scouring the clearance at Hobby Lobby where we found loads of things for pennies.  Literally.  Pennies.  We got four things for two cents each.  A few things for twenty-six cents.  A bunch of other things for less than a dollar.  They were all really weird random things, and shopping with no purpose and only spending a few dollars is super fun.  Happy Snow Day!
