Sarcastic Blog Post Title: Eating Less is So Much Fun

Well, I hit a wall a couple weeks ago. A food wall. Like so many people in this country, I am addicted to food.

I’ll openly admit that, because really when it comes down to it, I think most of us are. It’s such an easy trap to fall into. We love spending time with friends and having people over, and there’s always FOOD involved. We are always celebrating something whether it be a holiday or a birthday or a special occasion of some sort, and FOOD is involved. We go to preschool graduation, end of the year picnic, elementary school end of the year hooplas, cookouts, pool parties, birthday parties, memorial day parties and party parties. And they all entice us with their delicious array of calorie ridden food. And then the majority of us ladies who have gained our “pregnancy” weight wonder why it’s been three years and we’re still carrying 75% of it. All that darn food!

I think I was sort of spinning a bit out of control, and luckily that wall came and smacked me in the face. It’s been fourteen days of eating better, of working out (a little…still working on that one) and being much more conscious of what goes into my mouth. Seven pounds down in two weeks. . . off to a good start. I’m sure my first plateau is right around the corner, but for now I’ll enjoy the scale showing me slightly smaller numbers each morning. It’s something to smile about.

But man. . . eating less is NOT my idea of a good time. Wouldn’t you agree?!
