Rewind: December 24th

It’s no secret that I’m behind on my posts.  So my next few posts are going to be rewinds.  We celebrated Christmas with a few of my family members on Christmas Eve.  Carter had no idea what was going on and Brayden was completely full of energy.  We enjoyed being able to stay at home on Christmas Eve and attend our own church’s Christmas Eve service for the first time in our marriage.  Crazy!

My mom tried out her hand at the Beast, so James and I could be in a couple pictures together πŸ™‚

James wanted to start a tradition for our family once Brayden was born.  So this is the third year we’ve done some sort of Gingerbread project.  Gingerbread Train in 2008 (near bottom of post).  Gingerbread House in 2009.  And this year we chose Gingerbread “Babies”.  Brayden and I read Jan Brett’s Gingerbread Baby before enthusiastically tearing open the kit.  Joshua had a great time helping us decorate too.

Brayden’s preschool class had a mini performance on their last day before break.  Please scroll to the bottom of the blog and pause the playlist before you hit play on the videos!

It was definitely evident that Brayden is the “loud kid” in the class!  Hopefully that means that he participates often, gets a lot out of the learning experiences and is generally a pleasure because he interacts as opposed to clamming up.  I wish I could be a fly on the wall!!  This was my little sneak peek into his little performing personality.  What a ham!

P.S.  James lovingly pointed out that yellow is not really a Christmas color and that Brayden’s outfit sticks out like a sore thumb.  Maybe consider it to be a representation of the Star shining in the sky after Jesus’ birth?? πŸ™‚  That’s as Christmasy as you can get!
