Break week is here! One of the few weeks of the school year that we have had barely any plans, and we can hunker down and be lazy. Kind of. I still have had a few sessions, and there’s always work to be done, but for the most part, we are trying to chill and lay low. It’s not often that we get this opportunity! Brayden always hates that he has to go to school and misses out on family time, so he just loves school breaks. Though, he’s so used to being on the go all the time, that he’s really quite unsure of what to even do with himself.
Carter is enjoying being five. He definitely was under the impression that when he turned five he would grow overnight. So he keeps asking me about this one Nike Football shirt that I bought for him that I had to put away because it was too big. I took it out yesterday to let him try it on and he was definitely baffled that it still didn’t fit him. Poor kid. He definitely has outgrown most of his 3T stuff though, so James and I went through bins and gave him a whole new wardrobe of 4’s yesterday. Too bad nothing fits. The kid needs a size 3 1/2. So for now we will roll pant waists and fold sleeves and call it a day. He will eventually grow into them. Someday.
And then there’s this kid. The non-stop runner, messer upper, terrible sleeper at night, cutest boy I’ve ever seen. He’s curious, and sweet and unfortunately has just learned the word no. Until last week, everything was a “yes!”. And now. . . not so much.
We’ve been cleaning out our crawl space little bit this week, and with that is always a lot of excitement from the boys. We have a few boxes of toys packed away in there and some other random things that never see the light of day. We pulled a few things out the other day and there is always thirty minutes of hubbub and excitement before the novelty wears off. It’s a fun (but quick!) thing to watch.
And now I’m off. The little one is up from his nap and there is a free birthday cookie awaiting Carter at Barnes and Noble that is calling his name. Stay warm, friends. Spring is just around the bend!
